Track listing:Sikhara - "Bardos" + "Mira-me Miguel"
One of the first releases from Portugal diy label, Lovers &
Lollypops, is a cd-r featuring two of the most relentlessly touring bands
in the European underground, Milano, Italia's costumed duo OvO and the
French/American/Portuguese tribal percussion ensemble Sikhara. For this
disc, Sikhara give the first preview of their upcoming cd "Bardos State"
the release of which will coincide with their 2006 USA tour. Recorded in
Bom Jesus, Portugal by Marcio Decio, the tracks capture the savage nature
of Sikhara's live performance. OvO are known for their brutally
simplistic approach to sound, which heavily recycles numerous forms of
extreme music. "Torchio da Ossa" explores new ground for the band, with a
reconstruction at the hands of Daniele Brusaschetto. Brusaschetto's
remixes bring to the forefront the more metallic elements of OvO,
resulting in a 10+ minute thrashing from the combo of Bruno Dorella and
Stefania Pedretti. The disc arrives amongst the recent wave of cdrs being
produced in Portugal including Let's Go To War's "No Noise in Porto"
and the Soopa/Esquilo co-presentation of Wolf Eye's "Six Arms and Sucks."
