In November 2009, Scott Nydegger made a series of guerilla performances as a solo incarnation of Sikhara in Taichung, Taiwan.  All audio and images were taken in some of the most famous temples of Taichung City including The Confucious Temple and the Lin Ancestral Shrine.  The audio was remixed with Jason LaFarge at Seizures Palace
in Brooklyn, New York.
  With 23 million people on the island, Taiwan is the 15th most densely populated country in the world, although they are in fact a territory of sorts.  As the Republic of China, they are independent from the People's Republic of China and are recognized by the international community despite their lack of "official" diplomatic relations with all, but 23 countries. 
  The religion in Taiwan in a mixture of Taoist and Buddhists, with with a heavy influence from Confucianism and various folk religions.
