With great sadness we regret the loss of one of the Master Musicians of Hop-Frog. Our dear friend passed on through the ether today. David left us after a long battle with a terminal disease. He can be heard blowing his clarinet and playing synthesizer on Centuries Later. Our memories of performance, tours and recording our ever-branded with delight. We miss you and love you! May peace be with you.

Little do some of you know, The Master Musicians of Hop-Frog have been around for quite some time. Have you seen this Grammys advert from the 1970s?

We are extremely pleased to announce the release of the San Kazakgascar/Master Musicians of Hop-Frog 7" SPLIT. Both tracks are the purest art/post punk music we've heard in a lllllllllllong time. You can listen to samples here.

We have had our most productive year to date. The release of the 2CD compilation, Post-Asiatic: Lost War Dream Music has been as explosive and well received as we envisioned: "easily one of the best compilations of the year" - Foxy Digitalis, "this could very well be a complete picture of a scene" - Vital Weekly, "this is one of the best compilations I've ever heard" TrueDeadAngelBlog, "awash with some excellent modern Kraut-influenced, eastern flavoured rock, and who could possibly resist that" - Simon Lewis (Terrastock), "Everytime we play this in the store, someone comes up to ask what it is" - Aquarius Records. With the continued work of trying to get the word out on the comp we have a ton of new releases planned for 2008 that will knock your socks off. The 1st a 7" split between Sacramento's post-punk middle-eastern dream machine, San Kasakasgar and The Master Musicians of Hop-Frog due out in Feb....then. the long awaited 2nd album from free spaz scrap metal post-asiatics, Nequaqum Vacuum entitled "Fallout over Peking", Catastrophic Mermaids on Parade's 2nd release, Drum Jester Devotionals 3rd full length, Refrigerator Mothers' "Organ Acid Test No. 1", new field recordings from jerry Lloyd, a full length from the best ambient soundtrack maestro out there TZII (France) and Makmed the Miller & Astral Gonad's (Forgotten Fish Memory Orchestra (Netherlands) beautiful new project The Bewitched. Jeremy's decribed this as the Post-Asiatic's answer to Eno. And lastly an AMPS FOR CHRIST/HOP-FROG KOLLECTIV collaboration is in the works.... SHHHHHHH!!! PHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW!

Meanwhile back at the camp, Sikhara is settling down after a whirlwhind US tour (w/Z'EV) and Euro Tour that came sadly with the loss of a good portion of Scott Nydegger's hand. After visiting the hospital to check on a small infection Scott was told that an operation was immediately necessary to save his hand. The doctors we're able to remove a chunk from his 2nd nuckle to his wrist without removing/destroying the tendon. Scott is back in the US and is expecting a full recovery. Most importantly the operation will not affect his drumming. Sikhara is now revamping, writing new material and planning for another tour, 3rd album and more absolute chaos. Hermit the Flog (Eric) just finished 2 new Catastrophic Mermaids on Parade albums and is in the midst of a move from Los Angeles to Portland. E.Loi (Jeremy) is polishing up the saz drenched 3rd DJD full length while working on Post-Asiatic promotion and archiving some Savage Republic/F-Space/Mobilization audio and video for Ethan Port. Carl Off is working on a new album featuring a couple of new family members, a Hammond Organ and Silvertone Organ recently given to me by Shea of SMGSAP while keeping up the assault of URCK music on the world, not to mention a full load of school. Jewlie and Katlyn Off are both taking some pretty heavy dance classes for the next 6 months and we're contemplating a move to Portland. DMO (Denise) has been working her arse off in school at Santa Monica College while cranking out a few killer Volcanosis tracks (http://www.myspace.com/volcanosis) and providing some fine artwork for URCK. Thee Honey Twin (Blake) is running a new HFK blogspot and a radio show spilling the love of the kollectiv everywhere while keeping Colin and Blakey blissful as ever. Phaul (Glenn) has been working on music again an will be appearing on the new Dung Mummy comp. Omega (Adam) has moved to Portland to attend Reed College and is working on some new releases for his label, Macro-Eden. Karen has just finished her master of arts at CSUF and is plotting her next musical endeavor. Shea is busy as ever with OPEN books at its new location and a weekly experimental series begining in January. Tim just flew to Hong Kong to snatch up his new bride and is promising us some new field recording from beyond. Well, I can go on forever but, I'll just STOP HERE!
